MIDDLETOWN, Ohio- The Rio Grande RedStorm are the overwhelming favorite to finish at the top of the leaderboard in men's golf in the River States Conference this season, as the RedStorm took eight of ten first place votes in the 2024 RSC Preseason Men's Golf Coaches' Poll. The poll, announced Tuesday by the River States Conference office, saw each of the conference's ten head coaches rank the other member schools in order of predicted finish.

Rio Grande won the 2024 River States Conference championship in a playoff, coming from behind to topple WVU Tech for the conference title. WVU Tech, led by reigning conference medalist Bryson Beaver, earns one of the other two first place votes, and ties for second place with the Red Wolves of Indiana East. There is also a tie for fourth place, as Midway and IU Kokomo round out the top five with 52 points each.

In the bottom half of the poll, Brescia checks in at sixth, while the Pomeroys of Saint Mary-of-the-Woods are picked to finish in seventh. Alice Lloyd earned the last of the ten first place votes, and the Eagles are projected to finish eighth. The poll is rounded out by Oakland City in ninth and Shawnee State in tenth.

The golf programs of the River States Conference will gather for the first time in just under three weeks, as the 2024 River States Fall Preview is contested at the Glade Springs Resort Golf Course September 23-24. The teams will then return to Glade Springs in May for the 2025 River States Conference Championships, slated for May 4-6.
