River States Players of the Week - October 20-26, 2025

OXFORD, Ohio - The River States Conference is pleased to announce the Player of the Week honorees for the past week.

All awards represent contests played from Monday, October 20 through Sunday, October 26.

Men's Basketball Players of the Week

Offensive Player of the Week
Nathaniel Hoffman, IU Southeast | Sr. - Forward - Jeffersonville, Indiana
Hoffman was massive for the Grenadiers in an upset of the No. 3 team in the country. The Jeffersonville, Indiana native scored 18 points, grabbed nine rebounds, and had the game clinching steal in the Grenadiers' first win in program history over the Tigers.

Defensive Player of the Week
Nathaniel Hoffman, IU Southeast | Sr. - Forward - Jeffersonville, Indiana
In addition to his offensive production of 18 points, the senior grabbed nine rebounds (seven defensively) and had the game clinching steal in the upset of No. 3 Georgetown, the Grenadiers' first win in program history over the Tigers.

Women's Basketball Players of the Week

Offensive Player of the Week
Abby Fleetwood, IU Columbus | Jr. - Guard - Trafalgar, Indiana
Fleetwood scored 36 points in IU Columbus' first two games of the season, scoring 16 points against Culver-Stockton and adding 20 points against Mount Mercy. The junior did so efficiently, shooting 51.5 percent from the field.

Defensive Player of the Week
Abby Fleetwood, IU Columbus | Jr. - Guard - Trafalgar, Indiana
Fleetwood was extremely active on the glass in IU Columbus' first two games of the season. The junior pulled down 23 total rebounds, including 14 on the defensive glass, in IU Columbus' games with Culver-Stockton and Mount Mercy.

Women's Volleyball Players of the Week

Attacker of the Week
Cora Baker, IU Columbus | Jr. - Outside Hitter - Berne, Indiana
Baker played a major role in one of IU Columbus' biggest wins in program history, a five-set victory over IU Southeast. The junior outside hitter logged 25 kills and a .333 attack percentage in the win, while also adding nine digs and a block.

Setter of the Week
Aislyn Hogan, IU East | So. - Setter - Fort Wayne, Indiana
Aislyn Hogan had 76 assists on the weekend, helping IU East to sweeps of Rio Grande and WVU Tech. Hogan logged 34 assists in the sweep over the RedStorm, then averaged 14 assists per set in a 42-assist performance against WVU Tech.

Defender of the Week
Ella Bickel, IU East | Sr. - Defensive Specialist - Fort Wayne, Indiana
Ella Bickel held down the back line for the Red Wolves in sweeps of Rio Grande and WVU Tech. The senior had 18 digs in the win over the RedStorm, then added another 23 in a 3-0 win over the Golden Bears, averaging 6.83 digs per set on the week.

Men's Soccer Players of the Week

Offensive Player of the Week
Nahuel Coppiz, Rio Grande | Fr. - Midfielder - Cordoba, Argentina
Coppiz was big in two wins last week for RedStorm. The freshman scored a goal in the RedStorm's 5-0 victory over Shawnee State, then added a goal and a pair of assists in a 10-0 victory over IU East on Saturday, keeping Rio's hope for a first round bye alive.

Defensive Player of the Week
Connor Vincent, Midway | Sr. - Goalkeeper - Portugal
Vincent had nine saves including a pair of amazing stops from near the front of the goal box with seven minutes to play in a 1-1 tie against Asbury. Midway proceeded to score the winning goal just over a minute later, earning a road win over an NCAA Division II foe.

Women's Soccer Players of the Week

Offensive Player of the Week
Julia Silva, WVU Tech | So. - Midfielder - Canada
Julia Silva delivered a standout week for WVU Tech, powering the Golden Bears to a perfect 2-0 record. The sophomore scored four goals across two matches, including a hat trick in a win over Kentucky Christian, towards eight points. She led the team with nine shots, six on goal, and posted a .444 shot percentage.

Defensive Player of the Week
Zoe Bippus, IU Columbus | Fr. - Goalkeeper - Evansville, Indiana
Bippus was excellent in IU Columbus' two games this week, allowing just one goal total in matches against St. Mary-of-the-Woods and Midway. Bippus made eight saves in a 2-1 win over SMWC, then added five saves in a shutout win over Midway.

Cross Country Runners of the Week

Male Runner of the Week
Tyler Jenkins, Rio Grande | Sr. - Barnesville, Ohio
Jenkins set a new school and personal record in leading the No. 23 RedStorm to a third-place finish as a team in a field at the NAIA Appalachian Challenge, which included No. 3 Cumberlands and No. 6 Milligan - the only two teams which finished ahead of Rio Grande.

Female Runner of the Week
Amarissa Kerns, Rio Grande | Sr. - Lancaster, Ohio
Kerns led Rio Grande's contingent at the NAIA Appalachian Challenge, completing the 5k course in 17:53 and finishing seventh overall. Kerns set a new personal record at the event, helping Rio Grande to a fourth place showing as a team.

Golfers of the Week

Male Golfer of the Week
Heidar Bjarnason, WVU Tech | Fr. - Selfoss, Iceland
Bjarnason was WVU Tech's top golfer at the Bluefield State Intercollegiate, held at Fincastle Country Club in Virginia. The RSC Fall Preview medalist earned a top 20 finish in the field of 96 golfers, led by four-under par score of 66 in the second round.
