Men's Basketball Players of the Week

Offensive Player of the Week
Alonzo Clawson-Smith, IU Kokomo | Fr. - Guard - Lafayette, Indiana
Freshman guard Alonzo Clawson-Smith has been stuffing the stat sheet since the moment he arrived on campus, racking up 41 points, 16 assists, and 15 rebounds across two IU Kokomo victories last week. He posted 22 points, seven assists, and five rebounds—plus a highlight-reel poster dunk—in the win over Taylor, then came just one assist shy of a triple-double in Saturday’s road win at Olivet Nazarene.

Defensive Player of the Week
Cole Chapman | Jr. - Guard - Beaver, West Virginia
Chapman posted 19 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals while averaging 36.5 minutes against #17 Georgetown and #15 Bethel. He led Tech on the glass with 9.5 rebounds per game, including a game-high 12 vs. Bethel, and committed just three fouls across 73 minutes. Chapman’s defensive rebounding, ball control and on-ball pressure anchored Tech against two nationally ranked opponents.

Women's Basketball Players of the Week

Offensive Player of the Week
Alexys Moore, Midway | Fr. - Guard - Tellico Plains, Tennessee
Moore had a dominant, all-around afternoon, scoring 25 points in just 21 minutes in a 96-80 road victory over Alice Lloyd on Saturday, all while swiping five steals for the Eagles. In her first season of college basketball, Moore has scored in double-figures in each of her first five collegiate games.

Defensive Player of the Week
Miyoshi Ellis, Shawnee State | Sr. - Guard - Harlem, New York
Ellis was a personal wrecking ball all week on both ends of the floor, averaging 10.7 points, 4.3 assists, 3.3 rebounds, two steals and posting a 2.2-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio from the lead guard spot. The senior came off the bench to average 12 points, four assists, 2.5 rebounds (all defensive) and a steal, then posted eight assists, five assists and four steals in her second game as a starter in 2025 in a 30-point victory over Carolina (N.C.).
