OXFORD, Ohio - The River States Conference is pleased to announce the Player of the Week honorees for the past week.
All awards represent contests played from Monday, December 8 through Sunday, December 14.
Men's Basketball Players of the Week
Offensive Player of the Week
Mikey Johnson, IU East | Fr. - Guard - Indianapolis, Indiana
Johnson led the way in IU East's victory over Kentucky Christian, scoring 24 points in a 103-95 win on Saturday. The freshman guard posted a double-double, with eleven rebounds to go with his 24 points, and knocked down 57.1 percent of his shots.
Defensive Player of the Week
Ethan Haddaway, IU Southeast | Sr. - Forward - Mount Washington, Kentucky
Haddaway was a force at the rim, blocking seven shots in two games for IU Southeast, including a massive five rebound-three block performance against previously unbeaten Campbellsville. The senior also pulled down nine rebounds on the week.

Grace Stapleton, IU Southeast | So. - Guard - Shirley, Indiana
Stapleton was truly sensational for the Grenadiers in wins over IU Kokomo and IU Northwest. The sophomore averaged 21.5 points, making 59.3 percent of her shots and 46.2 percent of her threes. She lso averaged 7.0 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 2.5 steals per game in arguably the best week of her collegiate career.

Linzie Wernert, IU Southeast | Jr. - Forward - Lanesville, Indiana
Wernert continued to be a force defensively for the Grenadiers. The junior forward had 19 rebounds, 5 steals, and a block in a 2-0 week for IU Southeast, as the Grenadiers earned a road win over IU Kokomo and a home triumph over IU Northwest.

Male Track Athlete of the Week
Elijah Williams, SMWC | Fr. - Indianapolis, Indiana
Williams competed twice for the Pomeroys at the John Gartland Invitational, hosted by Indiana State University. He ran the 800 meters in 2:05.15, then was part of St. Mary-of-the-Woods' effort in the 4x400 meter relay.
Male Field Athlete of the Week
Keegan McKinney, Rio Grande | So. - Baltimore, Ohio
McKinney smashed the school indoor shot put record by more than a foot and hit "B" qualifying standard for nationals. The sophomore won the shot put at the Tiffin University Alumni Open on Saturday, winning with a throw of 16.45 meters.
Female Track Athlete of the Week
Leslie Sprankles, IU Kokomo | Sr. - Bluffton, Indiana
Senior distance runner Leslie Sprinkles captured the women’s 1,000 meters Friday at Indiana Tech, posting a time that now leads the River States Conference. She finished the race in 3:10.60, taking the gold medal among the three in attendance at the Warrior Indoor Invitational.
Female Field Athlete of the Week
Faith Rock, IU Kokomo | Sr. - Lakeville, Indiana
Senior thrower Faith Rock captured the women’s shot put title Friday at Indiana Tech, as her second attempt of 13.10 meters won the event by more than a meter and vaulted her to the top of the River States Conference. She was the top finisher among 12 at the Warrior Indoor Invitational.
