MIDDLETOWN, Ohio - The River States Conference is pleased to announce the Player of the Week honorees for the past week.
All awards represent contests played from Monday, March 17 through Sunday, March 23.
Men's Volleyball Players of the Week
Attacker of the Week
Michal Bak, Georgetown | Jr. - Outside Hitter - Poland
Bak logged 39 kills on the week, as the Tigers posted a 2-1 record. He logged 18 kills in the RSC Match of the Week against Campbellsville, then added another nine in a four-set victory over Rio Grande on Friday. He also added 12 kills in a non-conference match against Mount Vernon Nazarene on Thursday. He had a double-double in all three matches, logging 37 digs on the week.
Setter of the Week
Finn Heinemann, Georgetown | Sr. - Setter - Paderborn, Germany
Heinemann averaged more than eleven assists per set on the week, and posted a double-double in conference matches against Campbellsville and Rio Grande. He logged 58 assists and ten digs in the Campbellsville match, then added 45 assists and 11 digs in a win over Rio Grande.
Defender of the Week
Maaz Khan, Rio Grande | Fr. - Libero - Peshawar, Pakistan
Khan logged 32 digs in matches against Georgetown and Brescia on Friday and Saturday. The freshman had 17 digs against the defending national champions, then averaged five digs per set for a total of 15, leading the RedStorm to a sweep over Brescia on Saturday.

Player of the Week
Hudson Allen, Oakland City | Fr. - Infielder - Huntingburg, Indiana
Allen hit safely in all three games of the RSC Series of the Week, leading the Mighty Oaks to a pair of victories over Shawnee State. The freshman had a standout performance on Saturday, hitting for the cycle in the first game of a doubleheader. Allen finished the weekend with seven hits in 13 at-bats, scoring four runs and driving in two.
Pitcher of the Week
Eli Laurent, IU Southeast | So. - Pitcher - Fort Wayne, Indiana
Laurent was dominant against No. 9 Cumberlands, throwing 6.1 innings while only allowing one run on Wednesday. The Fort Wayne native walked zero while striking out 6 in his longest start as a Grenadier, leading IU Southeast to a 7-3 victory over the top ten ranked Patriots.
Softball Players of the Week
Player of the Week
Hannah Boardman, St. Mary-of-the-Woods| So. - Infielder - Clinton, Indiana
Boardman recorded three home runs and 12 RBI as the Pomeroys recorded three wins over the week. The sophomore was 3-of-3 at the plate with a home run and 4 RBI in the road win over IU-Columbus, then went yard twice in the win over West Virginia Tech with 4 RBI. She also added a double at Brescia.
Pitcher of the Week
Madi Ogden, Rio Grande | Sr. - Pitcher - Williamsburg, Ohio
Rio Grande went 6-0 for the week, and Madi Ogden was 3-0 with two saves. She tossed three shutouts in as many starts, struck out 13 or more in each of her three starts, allowed just seven hits in her five appearances, and she did not walk a batter. Ogden took a perfect game into the seventh inning of Rio Grande's win over WVU Tech.

Men's Tennis Player of the Week
Aleks Ivancevic, Oakland City | Fr. - Vaughan, Canada
The Canadian freshman continues to pick up wins in the bottom of the line up for the Mighty Oaks. Ivancevic picked up a decisive victory for Oakland City in the sixth singles flight against Lindsey Wilson, winning 6-1, 6-2 over LWC's Aldo Randazzo.
Women's Tennis Player of the Week
Cristina Hurtado, Oakland City | Sr. - Vina Del Mar, Chile
Cristina and her partner have dominated in doubles this year, beating multiple ranked opponents and continued with that this week. Against (RV) Cumberland, Hurtado and her partner earned a 7-5 victory over the Phoenix's top team. She won the opening set of her singles match, 6-3, before the match was abandoned due to the clinching point of the match.
Outdoor Track Athletes of the Week
Male Track Athlete of the Week
Connor Messer, Midway | Fr. - Corbin, Kentucky
Messer set a pair of Midway records, as the Eagles competed in the Pioneer Invitational. The freshman won and ran a program-record time in the 800 and was also part of a team that set the 4x4 record in a victory at the Pioneer Invitational. He logged a time of 1:55.48 in the 800, then helped the Eagles relay team to a time of 3:30.49.
Male Field Athlete of the Week
Alan Austin, Shawnee State | So. - Piketon, Ohio
For the second time in as many weekends to start the outdoor track and field season, Shawnee State sophomore thrower Alan Austin posted a NAIA National 'B' Standard in the discus -- as the sophomore's 51.18 meter throw allowed Austin to set a new personal best, a new school record and a top-three NAIA throwing mark in the event on the final day of the Charlotte 49er Classic.
Female Track Athlete of the Week
Kyla Bradberry, St. Mary-of-the-Woods | Fr. - Louisville, Kentucky
Kyla Bradberry won the women's 100 meter dash with a time of 12.19, just three hundredths of a second off the school record. Bradberry did set the school record in the 200 meter dash with a time of 24.71 seconds as she won the event. She added a fourth place finish as a member of the 4 x 400 meter relay team which completed the event in a time of 50.74 seconds.
Female Field Athlete of the Week
Emerson VanScoy, Midway | Sr. - Teays Valley, West Virginia
VanScoy had a big weekend at the Pioneer Invitational, as the West Virginia native won the high jump. The senior hit the national qualifying "B" standard at the event, and set a new school record, as well as a personal record, with a jump of 1.67 meters, almost five inches higher than any other competitor.
Golf Players of the Week
Male Player of the Week
Sam Firebaugh, IU East | Jr. - Zionsville, Indiana
Firebaugh led the Red Wolves at the Alice Lloyd Invitational, held at The Battlefield Golf Club in Richmond, Kentucky. The junior shot a 70 in the opening round and a 68 in the final round, tying for second overall with a 138. Firebaugh's efforts led IU East to a third place finish among the nine teams in attendance.
Female Player of the Week
Liv Sanders, IU East | Sr. - Bedford, Indiana
Sanders was IU East's top golfer at the Lawrence Tech Heritage Hill Collegiate, held at Heritage Hill Golf Club in Shepherdsville, Kentucky. The senior shot a 242 across 54 holes, carding rounds of 81, 86, and 75. She placed in the top 20 of the 52 golfers at Heritage Hill, and helped the Red Wolves place in the top half of the field.
