OXFORD, Ohio - The River States Conference is pleased to announce the Player of the Week honorees for the past week.
All awards represent contests played from Monday, August 18 through Sunday, August 24.
Women's Volleyball Players of the Week
Attacker of the Week
Lexi Broyles, IU Kokomo | Sr. - Middle HitterĀ - DeMotte, Indiana
Veteran middle hitter Lexi Broyles led helped lead IU Kokomo to wins over #15, #22, and a receiving votes team. In addition to her .255 hitting % across 5 matches, she also had 5 solo blocks and 9 block assists.
Setter of the Week
Allison Richman, IU Kokomo | Sr. - Setter - Fort Wayne, Indiana
Senior setter Allison Richman turned in a great all-around setter performance to start her final collegiate season, shouldering a big load for an IU Kokomo offense that is still young and improving. Across five matches and a 3-2 week that included wins over #15, #22, and a receiving votes team, Richman totaled 154 assists (7.7 assists/set), 15 big block assists for a setter, and 23 digs. Her best match of the weekend came in a reverse sweep of #22 Marian, as she set a new career-high for assists with 40 while tallying seven block assists.
Defender of the Week
Cali Cummings, IU Kokomo | Fr. - Middle Hitter - Seymour, Indiana
Junior Cali Cummings helped lead the Cougars to wins over #15, #22, and a receiving votes team. Cummings put up eight solo blocks and 14 block assists for a 1.10 blocks per set as the Cougars posted a 3-2 record on the week. She also contributed offensively with 43 kills and a .231 attack percentage.

Marco Riva, Shawnee State | Sr. - Midfielder - Como, Italy
Riva, a senior captain, scored the game tying goal in the 77th minute against Ave Maria to help the Bears force a 1-1 tie after trailing the Gyrenes 1-0 at half, then assisted on the game-winning goal to Nikos Pontikis to help Shawnee State take a 3-1 victory over Warner after also trailing by a 1-0 margin at the halftime break.
Defensive Player of the Week
Toby Forsythe, Shawnee State | So. - Goalkeeper - Gahanna, Ohio
In his first two collegiate starts in goal at any level, Toby Forsythe locked matters down for the Bears, posting 11 saves against Ave Maria and Warner in goal and a 1.03 goals-against-average to start the season. Forsythe helped Shawnee State pitch clean sheets in the second half of both matches en route to helping SSU start the season 1-0-1. Forsythe made two saves in the seventh minute as well as saves in the 34th, 84th and 86th minutes against Ave Maria and made saves in the third, fourth, 66th, 67th, 70th and 73rd minutes against Warner.

Jitske De Muijnk, Rio Grande | Sr. - Midfielder - Nymegen, Netherlands
De Muijnk played a major role in Rio Grande's season-opening 4-0 victory over Bluefield on Thursday. The senior midfielder scored a goal and assisted on another, helping the RedStorm to 1-0 start to the 2025 season.
Defensive Player of the Week
Elizabeth Sarfo-Benson, IU East | Fr. - Goalkeeper - Cincinnati, Ohio
Elizabeth Sarfo-Benson was a wall this past week registering 12 saves without allowing a goal. The Red Wolves opened the season 1-0-1, playing Madonna to a scoreless draw before picking up a 1-0 win over Rochester Christian on Saturday.
