OXFORD, Ohio - The River States Conference is pleased to announce the Player of the Week honorees for the past week.
All awards represent contests played from Monday, August 25 through Sunday, August 31.
Women's Volleyball Players of the Week
Attacker of the Week
Masa Pesic, St. Mary-of-the-Woods | Jr. - Right Side Hitter - Zajecar, Serbia
Masa Pesic was a force on both sides of the net during the Pomeroys' 5-0 weekend at the Showdown in the Woods, helping SMWC to wins over Boyce, Culver-Stockton, Goshen, and IU-Northwest. Pesic's all-around play made her one of the most impactful performers of the tournament. Her ability to contribute in every phase made her one of the standout players of the event and a key factor in the Pomeroys' perfect weekend.
Setter of the Week
Elle McLoughlin, Rio Grande | Sr. - Setter - Zanesville, Ohio
McLoughlin racked up 156 assists across five matches this week, helping the RedStorm to three victories. The reigning River States Conference Setter of the Year averaged more than nine assists per set, and eclipsed ten assists per set in victories over Shawnee State and Northwestern Ohio
Defender of the Week
Leishmarie Virella, St. Mary-of-the-Woods | Jr. - Bayamon, Puerto Rico - Libero
Leishmarie Virella anchored the Pomeroy back row during a perfect 5-0 weekend at the Showdown in the Woods. Her defensive consistency and serve-receive reliability were key to SMWC's success, as she kept rallies alive and neutralized opposing attacks.

Rhys Dickson, Midway | Fr. - Midfielder - Glasgow, Scotland
Dickson had a monster performance during Midway's 7-0 victory over Defiance College on Saturday. The freshman put together the ninth hat trick in Midway history while also recording two assists, accounting for five of Midway's seven goals in the blowout win.
Defensive Player of the Week
Guilherme Bitencourt, Shawnee State | Sr. - Defender - Sao Paolo, Brazil
Bitencourt, a senior captain and Second-Team All-RSC honoree in 2024, helped Shawnee State score its second-ever victory against a ranked opponent in program history and defeat its first ranked opponent since 2013 while scoring the program's biggest win in its history by playing all 90 minutes in a 1-0 victory over No. 20 Milligan. Bitencourt, a center back, didn't allow the Buffaloes to record a shot on goal over the final 26 minutes of the 1-0 triumph.

Offensive Player of the Week
Sloane Pollock, Midway | Fr. - Midfielder - Brandenburg, Kentucky
Pollock had a phenomenal start to her college career, scoring all four goals Midway scored during the week. This included a shot from about 30 yards out with six minutes to play to secure a tie in the opener against Berea. She then scored both Midway goals in a 2-0 victory over Defiance College on Saturday.
Defensive Player of the Week
Kailee Moore, IU Kokomo | Sr. - Goalkeeper - Noblesville, Indiana
Senior goalkeeper Kailee Moore earned her second shutout of the season last Tuesday evening, this time earning a victory as the Cougars beat IU Northwest 2-0. Moore stopped all 14 RedHawks shots on frame, guiding the IU Kokomo back-line to victory despite being out-shot.

Male Runner of the Week
Trevor Lanoy, Shawnee State | Jr. - Lancaster, Ohio
Shawnee State junior Trevor Lanoy, who ran a 15:26.91, headed the charge by running a five-second personal best from the same Thundering Herd XC Invitational event in 2024. Lanoy, who finished sixth, bettered 15 NCAA Division I runners Friday evening. Lanoy ran faster than all but one Marshall runner, and the remaining finishers that finished ahead of Lanoy were three runners from Ohio and an unattached harrier.
Female Runner of the Week
Olivia Cisco, Shawnee State | Sr. - Waverly, Ohio
Cisco, who held a top-12 position throughout much of the race, hit another gear down the final straight and with it, eked out a top-10 run by garnering a ninth-place finish, posting a personal best 5K run of 18:08.64 in the process. That time eclipsed her previous personal best by nearly 15 full seconds as a result. Additionally, Cisco outran 13 NCAA Division I runners from both Ohio and Marshall en route to her team-leading ru

Male Golfer of the Week
Sam Firebaugh, IU East | Sr. - Zionsville, Indiana
Firebaugh earned individual medalist honors at the IU East Fall Invitational, held at the Highland Golf Course in Richmond. The Indiana native posted a final score of eight under par in the 36-hole event, winning by three strokes. His efforts included ten birdies and an eagle in the two-day tournament.
Female Golfer of the Week
Jalyn Bruns, IU East | Sr. - Fort Recovery, Ohio
Bruns finished at the top of the leaderboard at the IU East Fall Invitational, finishing two shots ahead of the pack. She posted scores of 77 and 73 at Highland Golf Course, and her efforts helped the IU East women to the team title in the 12-school field.
