OXFORD, Ohio - The River States Conference is pleased to announce the Player of the Week honorees for the past week.
All awards represent contests played from Monday, January 12 through Sunday, January 18.
Men's Basketball Players of the Week
Offensive Player of the Week
Tyreon Payne, Shawnee State | Sr. - Guard - Baton Rouge, La.
Payne scored a season-high 29 points against IU Southeast in his first game since Jan. 6. The Louisiana native also converted a season-high 11/11 free throws against the Grenadiers in the RSC Game of the Week.
Defensive Player of the Week
Ahmadou Aw, Shawnee State| So. - Guard - Germantown, Md.
Aw had 11 steals in two games, including a season-high seven steals in a 79-74 overtime win over IU Southeast. The Maryland native also averaged five defensive rebounds per game.

Offensive Player of the Week
Jesse Ledgerwood, IU Southeast | Sr. - Guard - Washington, Indiana
Ledgerwood led the way to a pair of victories for the Grenadiers, who picked up conference wins over IU Columbus and Shawnee State. The Indiana native scored 17 points in a victory over IU Columbus, then had 28 points as IU Southeast earned a home victory over Shawnee State.
Defensive Player of the Week
Marina Garcia Perez, Rio Grande | Sr. - Guard - Leon, Spain
Garcia Perez flirted with triple-doubles in each of Rio's two wins this week, defeating IU East and IU Columbus. The Spainiard averaged 6.5 defensive rebounds per game (8.0 overall) and 5.0 steals per game. Offensively, she averaged 17.0 points per game and 12.0 assists per game.

Male Track Athlete of the Week
Carson Milner, Midway | Jr. - Walton, Kentucky
Milner had his second win in as many weeks in the one mile run while also placing third in the 1,000-meter run at the Centre Indoor Showcase.
Male Field Athlete of the Week
Jerahmia Smith, SMWC | Sr. - Phoenix, Arizona
Smith hit the NAIA B Standard in the shot put at Friday Night Spikes, breaking his own indoor school record with a throw of 16.52 meters. He also competed in the weight throw at Friday Night Spikes, logging a long throw of 13.20 meters.
Female Track Athlete of the Week
Kayci Hill, IU East | Fr. - Middletown, Indiana
Hill earned two gold medals at the George Glass Invitational, winning in the 1000 meters and the 4x800 meter relay. The freshman finished first among 11 runners in the 1000 meters, finishing the race in 3:04.00. She then helped IU East win the 4x800 meter relay with a team time of 10:31.18.
Female Field Athlete of the Week
Sydney Duncan, IU Kokomo | Jr. - Anderson, Indiana
Sydney Duncan won the Crossroads of America Invitational shot put, defeating 27 Division I competitors. She also finished ninth in the weight throw, beating 16 Division I throwers and earning recognition as the second-highest NAIA performer. Duncan’s shot put mark was a season best, extending her lead in both the conference and the nation. She remains ranked first in the conference and third nationally in the weight throw.

Savvas Christou, Campbellsville | Fr. - Outside Hitter - Limassol, Cyprus
Christou delivered a career-defining performance to lead the upset over #3 St. Thomas, putting away a match-high 20 kills on a stellar .441 hitting percentage. The true freshman was the primary offensive engine in the reverse sweep, totaling 25 kills across the two victories while maintaining impeccable efficiency on the outside.
Setter of the Week
Alonzo Vega, Campbellsville | Jr. - Setter - Toa Alta, Puerto Rico
Vega orchestrated the Tigers' offense to near-perfection, averaging a massive 11.71 assists per set across two wins. His distribution was key in the upset of #3 St. Thomas, where he dished out a career-high 61 assists and guided the team to a .291 hitting percentage against one of the nation’s top defenses from 2025.
Defender of the Week
Francesco Corradini, Cumberland | So. - Middle Blocker - Corridonia, Italy
Corradini was a force at the net for Cumberland in the first week of the season. Across three matches, the sophomore racked up 16 blocks, averaging almost one and a half blocks per set. He had at least four blocks in each match, with a high of seven against St. Ambrose.
