OXFORD, Ohio - The River States Conference is pleased to announce the Player of the Week honorees for the past week.
All awards represent contests played from Monday, March 9 through Sunday, March 15.
Men's Volleyball Players of the Week
Attacker of the Week
Joao Infante, Cumberland | Sr. - Outside Hitter - Lisbon, Portugal
Infante continued to be one of the nation's most dangerous attackers, racking up 33 kills on 61 swings this week. The senior had 12 kills and a .647 attack percentage in a Tuesday victory over Midway, then added 21 kills in four sets against St. Mary-of-the-Woods on Saturday.
Setter of the Week
Ethan Ricketts, St. Mary-of-the-Woods | So. - Setter - Plainfield, Illinois
SMWC setter Ethan Ricketts directed the Pomeroys’ offense in a pair of victories last week, highlighted by a River States Conference win over Cumberland. Ricketts recorded 73 assists across three matches, averaging 9.13 assists per set, while helping guide Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College to wins over Franklin (3–1) and Cumberland (3–1).
Defender of the Week
Adam Szewinski, Georgetown | Jr. - Middle Blocker - Czestochowa, Poland
Szewinski was a threat on both sides of the ball this week, helping the Tigers to a 3-0 week. He produced 15 total blocks with four block solos and 11 block assists on the week. He added nine digs, helping Georgetown take down No. 7 St. Thomas to cap a perfect week.

Player of the Week
Max Johnson, Brescia | So. - Outfield - Hazard, Kentucky
It was an incredible weekend for the sophomore who hit .769 in three victories over WVU Tech. He had ten hits in 13 at-bats, with six of those hits going for extra bases. He belted two home runs, drove in seven runs, and scored eleven. He also held a 1.000 fielding percentage in center field
Pitcher of the Week
Nathan McKissick, Midway | Jr. - Pitcher - Forney, Texas
McKissick tossed a dominant, complete game shutout against IU Columbus on Saturday, striking out eight batters with no walks while surrendering just four hits. McKissick's efforts were more than enough in a 6-0 win for the Eagles, part of a series sweep.
Softball Players of the Week
Player of the Week
Emily Moore, Shawnee State | So. - Utility - West Portsmouth, Ohio
Moore was on base in all six of Shawnee State's games this past week, all of which were wins for the Bears. She drove in ten runs on the week, including nine in conference sweeps of IU Columbus and Midway. In conference play, Moore went 7-for-10, scoring five runs and driving in nine.
Pitcher of the Week
Abby McPherson, Kentucky Christian | Jr. - Pitcher - Elkton, Kentucky
McPherson helped the Knights earn a pair of victories in RSC play this past week. The junior started her weekend with four scoreless innings against SMWC, striking out four hitters without surrendering a walk. She then added 3.2 innings in a victory over IU Southeast on Saturday.

Men's Tennis Player of the Week
Ricardo Starosta, Midway | Jr. - Porta Alegre, Brazil
Starosta returned from a month out of action with a perfect week at No. 1 singles and doubles, winning three of his four singles sets 6-0. Both wins came in conference action, as the Eagles picked up RSC victories over IU Southeast and Brescia.
Women's Tennis Player of the Week
Alicia Sanglas Sanglas, Midway | Fr. - Barcelona, Spain
Sanglas Sanglas went unbeaten at No. 1 singles and No. 1 doubles to help Midway squeak out a pair of tight win to open RSC play, defeating IU Southeast and Brescia. She won a pair of tight doubles matches at the top flight, then took four of five sets in singles action.

Male Golfer of the Week
Gage Gregory, Midway | Sr. - Monticello, Kentucky
At the LTU Spring Break Invitational in Alabama, Gregory tied for fourth place at a tournament with multiple ranked teams. The senior from Monticello was the only player from an unranked squad to finish in the top eight individually, firing a 54-hole score of 219.
Female Golfer of the Week
Peityn Gillman, IU East | Fr. - Liberty, Indiana
Gillman earned a top five finish at the LTU Spring Break Invitational in Alabama, posting a 54-hole score of 239. Gillman tied for fifth, led by a round of 74 in the second round, in a field that included five golfers in the national top 100 and seven in the national top 150.

Male Track Athlete of the Week
Jordin Jones, IU Columbus | Fr. - Greenfield, Indiana
Jones earned a spot on the podium in the 400 meters at the Cumberlands Early Spring Meet in Kentucky. The freshman placed third in the event, taking the bronze with a time of 50.23, tops among RSC runners. He also ran as part of IU Columbus' 4x400 meter relay team.
Male Field Athlete of the Week
Trevon Hess, IU Kokomo | Jr. - Gas City, Indiana
Trevon Hess finished second in the Triple Jump at the Cumberlands Early Spring Meet. He broke the school record in the event, is currently ranked first overall in the conference, and second in the nation following his mark of 13.24m in Williamsburg.
Female Track Athlete of the Week
Amber Detmer, IU Kokomo | Fr. - Patriot, Indiana
Amber Detmer won her first ever 3k Steeplechase event at the Cumberlands Early Spring Meet with a school freshman record effort. She is currently leading the conference and the country in the event, clocking in at 12:40.93 to win by more than eleven seconds.
Female Field Athlete of the Week
Kaylee Futrell, IU Kokomo | So. - Peru, Indiana
Kayle Futrell finished second in the pole vault at the Cumberlands Early Spring Meet in Kentucky. She is currently ranked first in the conference and third in the nation in the event, hitting a mark of 2.15 meters at the first spring event of the second.
