OXFORD, Ohio - The River States Conference is pleased to announce the Player of the Week honorees for the past week.
All awards represent contests played from Monday, April 20 through Sunday, April 26.
Baseball Players of the Week
Player of the Week
Diego Mendoza, Shawnee State | Sr. - Utility - Carolina, Puerto Rico
Mendoza had a monster week, starting with Shawnee State's historic 45-9 victory over Kentucky State on Tuesday. The senior drove in eight runs and scored six as the Bears tied the NAIA record for runs scored and broke the NAIA RBI record. Mendoza then went 6-for-14 with five RBIs in three games against Brescia.
Pitcher of the Week
Landen Ray, Oakland City | Sr. - Pitcher - Lawrenceville, Illinois
Ray finished the regular season with his finest outing of the campaign, as the senior tossed six shutout innings in a 1-0 victory over Kentucky Christian on Thursday. The Illinois native struck out six hitters across his six innings, and allowed just three hits en route to the victory.

Player of the Week
Mallory Shelton, IU Columbus | Sr. - Catcher / First Base - Bloomfield, Indiana
Shelton had a monster week for the Crimson Pride, giving IU Columbus momentum heading into this week's RSC Tournament in South Charleston. Shelton drove in 12 runs across five games, including six against SMWC and four more in the regular season finale against Oakland City.
Pitcher of the Week
Grace Butcher, Oakland City | Jr. - Pitcher - Washington, Indiana
Butcher helped the Mighty Oaks clinch the River States Conference regular season title, and the first national tournament berth in program history. The junior struck out 23 hitters in 18.1 innings of work, and earned wins in conference matchups against Midway and IU Southeast, both of which were complete games.
Golfers of the Week
Female Golfer of the Week
Maddie Campbell, IU East | Fr. - Brownsburg, Indiana
Campbell was the individual medalist at the Forest Hills Women's Invitational, and led the Red Wolves to a team title. The freshman enters next week's RSC Championship with momentum, shooting a 82-78 to claim the win by one stroke.

Male Track Athlete of the Week
Isaac Agee, WVU Tech | Fr. - Hines, West Virginia
Agee continued his standout freshman season with an event victory and school-record performance in the 110-meter hurdles at the John Weaver Invitational. Agee won the event in 14.56, earning 10 team points for WVU Tech and posting one of the top hurdle marks in program history. He also helped the Golden Bears’ 4x100-meter relay team place third in a season-best 43.48.
Male Field Athlete of the Week
Gabe Wedmore, IU Kokomo | Jr. - Summitville, Indiana
Gabe Wedmore threw "B" Standard throws in Shot Put (16.29 meters) and Hammer Throw (56.34 meters) in a very competitive Division I meet in Louisville. He continues to lead the conference in the hammer throw.
Female Track Athlete of the Week
Kayci Hill, IU East | Fr. - Middletown, Indiana
Hill enters the River States Conference Championships with momentum, as the freshman won the 1500 meters at the Bill Kincaid Invitational in Wilmington, Ohio. The freshman, who currently ranks third in the conference in the event, won by nearly five seconds.
Female Field Athlete of the Week
Sydney Duncan, IU Kokomo | Jr. - Anderson, Indiana
Sydney Duncan threw "A" Standard throws in Shot Put (14.74 meters) and Discus (47.85 meters) at a very competitive Division I meet in Louisville. She continues to lead the conference in shot put, hammer throw, and discus ahead of this week's River States Conference Championships.
