OXFORD, Ohio - The River States Conference is pleased to announce the Player of the Week honorees for the past week.
All awards represent contests played from Monday, August 24 through Sunday, August 30.
Women's Volleyball Players of the Week
Attacker of the Week
Mya Grigsby, IU Kokomo | Junior - Outside Hitter - Greenfield, Indiana
Grigsby delivered an outstanding all-around week against four nationally ranked opponents, totaling 76 kills, 55 digs, 11 service aces and 88 points while hitting .260 across four matches. She recorded double-doubles in all four contests, including three matches with at least 20 kills, highlighted by 21 kills, six aces and 12 digs in a 3-1 victory over No. 9 Mount Vernon Nazarene.
Setter of the Week
Olivia Barber, IU East | Freshman - Setter - Rensselaer, Indiana
Just weeks into her freshman season, Barber has assumed the role of IU East's main setter. In four matches this past weekend, the freshman averaged more than nine assists per set, including 46 assists in a five-set victory over Union Commonwealth. She also chipped in 28 digs and 13 kills, posting a double-double against Union with 11 digs.
Defender of the Week
Abby Herman, IU East | Junior - Defensive Specialist - McCordsville, Indiana
Herman has anchored the Red Wolves' back row early in the season, and ranks among the top 20 players in the nation in digs per set. In four matches this past week, the junior racked up 83 digs, more than 5.5 per set. Her high was 27 digs in a four-set matchup against Tennessee Southern.

Offensive Player of the Week
Facundo Rossich, Rio Grande | Sophomore - Forward - Buenos Aires, Argentina
Rossich led the way as Rio Grande earned their biggest win of the season so far against No. 22 Grace. The Argentine found the back of the net in the 14th minute, then sealed the RedStorm victory with a second tally in the 63rd minute.
Defensive Player of the Week
Samy Hamou, Rio Grande | Sophomore - Goalkeeper - Paris, France
Hamou led the RedStorm to results against a pair of nationally-ranked opponents. The Frenchman allowed just one goal in a 1-1 draw against No. 13 Bethel, then posted a clean sheet with four saves in a 2-0 win over No. 22 Grace.

Stephanie Beaulieu, Rio Grande | Sophomore - Forward - Morrow, Ohio
The RedStorm moved to 3-0 on the season with a pair of wins this past week, with Morrow playing a starring role on Friday. The sophomore scored three of Rio Grande's six goals against Rochester Christian, scoring in the 13th, 27th, and 86th minutes of a 6-3 victory.
Defensive Player of the Week
Lillie Carman, Brescia | Senior - Defender - Madisonville, Kentucky
The senior defender played phenomenally in the Bearcats' two games this week, including shutting out her former team in Kentucky Wesleyan. She transitioned from midfield to fill the Bearcats' defensive line gap and hasn't allowed attackers to penetrate into the box.
