OXFORD, Ohio - The River States Conference is pleased to announce the Player of the Week honorees for the past week.
All awards represent contests played from Monday, September 7 through Sunday, September 13.
Women's Volleyball Players of the Week
Attacker of the Week
Cora Baker, IU Columbus | Senior - Outside Hitter - Berne, Indiana
Baker led IU Columbus to two wins, including a victory in the first conference game of the season. The senior had 12 kills in matches against Boyce and Kentucky Christian, posting an attack percentage of .353.
Setter of the Week
Olivia Barber, IU East | Freshman - Setter - Rensselaer, Indiana
Barber was the Red Wolves' setter in the team's conference opening victory over Brescia. The freshman racked up 37 assists in the victory, while also adding six digs in a 3-1 win over the Bearcats.
Defender of the Week
Journee Brown, IU Columbus | Junior - Middle Hitter - Seymour, Indiana
Brown was a standout in the net as the Crimson Pride picked up two victories, including a 1-0 start in RSC play. The junior had a block in a win over Boyce on Tuesday, then erupted for six blocks in a sweep of Kentucky Christian on Saturday.

Offensive Player of the Week
Gonzalo Sabeh, WVU Tech | Sophomore - Midfielder - Yerba Buena, Tucuman, Argentina
Sabeh led WVU Tech’s attack in a 6-1 win over Pikeville, recording one goal and two assists for four points. The sophomore scored the game-winning goal and assisted on two additional scores, contributing to three of the Golden Bears’ six goals in the victory.
Defensive Player of the Week
Connor Vincent, Midway | Senior - Goalkeeper - Franklin, Kentucky
In his first start of the season, Connor Vincent recorded five saves in the Eagles' draw against Cleary. He allowed just one goal in his 90 minutes, earning a point for Midway on the road.

Offensive Player of the Week
Ella Cox, SMWC | Sophomore - Midfielder - Gig Harbor, Washington
Ella Cox powered Saint Mary-of-the-Woods to a 6-0 victory over Calumet College of St. Joseph, contributing to half of the Pomeroys’ goals. Cox scored twice and added an assist for a five-point performance, placing five of her seven shots on goal. She started both matches during the week and finished with two goals and an assist (five points).
Defensive Player of the Week
Cameela Walters, IU East | Freshman - Goalkeeper - Swartz Creek, Michigan
Walters posted back-to-back shutouts between the sticks, leading the Red Wolves to a pair of victories over Michigan Dearborn and Earlham. The freshman made three saves in the win over Dearborn, then added another save against Earlham.
Cross Country Runners of the Week
Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week
Evan McElwayne, WVU Tech | Junior - Clarksburg, West Virginia
McElwayne led WVU Tech at the Bethany Invitational, finishing second overall in the 8K with a time of 29:07.3. The junior was the Golden Bears’ top finisher in the 66-runner field and helped WVU Tech place fourth among nine scoring teams with 97 points.
Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week
Phoebe Dowty, IU Columbus | Sophomore - Trafalgar, Indiana
Dowty finished third overall at the Hanover XC Invitational, leading IU Columbus with a time of 20:23.5 on the 5k course. The sophomore was the second-best collegiate runner in a field of mostly NCAA Division II schools.
Golfers of the Week
Men's Golfer of the Week
Daniel Clutton, SMWC | Freshman - Adlington, England
Clutton tied for fifth in the 49-player field to lead SMWC to a sixth-place finish at the LTU Collegiate Kickoff. Clutton recorded rounds of 78, 73 and 75 on Boyne Mountain Resort’s Alpine Course, completing the 54-hole tournament with a 226. His second-round 73 was SMWC’s lowest round of the tournament and helped the Pomeroys improve their team score during each round.
Women's Golfer of the Week
Alex Goodwin, IU East | Junior - Centerville, Indiana
Goodwin was the Red Wolves' top player at the Randy Sadler Invitational, played in Liberty, Indiana. The junior shot a 77 in the opening round, the best for any player in the tournament, and ended with an overall second place finish.
