River States Players of the Week - October 13-19, 2025

OXFORD, Ohio - The River States Conference is pleased to announce the Player of the Week honorees for the past week.

All awards represent contests played from Monday, October 13 through Sunday, October 19.

Women's Volleyball Players of the Week

Attacker of the Week
Haley Jaster, IU Southeast | Sr. - Middle Blocker - Midland, Michigan
Jaster was absolutely dominant for the Grenadiers this weekend. The senior had 13 kills in a three-set win over Kentucky Christian on Friday and followed that up with a monster performance on Saturday with 21 kills for a ridiculous 5.25 kills/set in a 3-1 win over Shawnee State.

Setter of the Week
Aden Britt, St. Mary-of-the-Woods | Sr. - Setter - Pflugerville, Texas
Britt set the tone for the Pomeroys' 2-0 road weekend, averaging an impressive 11.71 assists per set while adding defensive balance and steady floor leadership. Britt quarterbacked the Pomeroy attack with precision, topping double-digit assists per set in both matches.

Defender of the Week
Avery Littrell, IU Kokomo | So. - Defensive Specialist - Coatesville, Indiana
Libero Avery Littrell continued to anchor the IU Kokomo defense this week, playing a key role in two more wins that pushed the Cougars' win streak to 16. Littrell was flawless in serve receive, committing zero reception errors across both matches, while racking up 42 digs and averaging an impressive 5.25 per set.

Men's Soccer Players of the Week

Offensive Player of the Week
Julen Recalde, WVU Tech | Fr. - Forward - San Sebastian, Spain
Recalde had another stellar outing, scoring two goals and adding one assist in WVU Tech's 4-1 win over Rio Grande, ending the Red Storm's 46 match conference regular season winning streak. He factored directly into three of the team's four goals towards five points.

Defensive Player of the Week
Luka Felix, WVU Tech | Sr. - Goalkeeper - Portugal
Felix anchored the back line with a seven-save performance, denying multiple quality chances from Rio Grande. His poise in net helped keep the Golden Bears in control throughout the night and preserved their unbeaten record, while ending the Red Storm's 46 match conference regular season winning streak.

Women's Soccer Players of the Week

Offensive Player of the Week
Jana Mueller, Oakland City | So. - Midfielder - Nierstein, Germany
Jana Mueller scored the only goal for the Mighty Oaks in a 1-0 win over Shawnee State, then scored two goals to go with four assists in a 13-0 win over Kentucky Christian. Her three goals came on just four shots, with all four attempts going on goal.

Defensive Player of the Week
Laura Thompson, Brescia | So. - Goalkeeper - Wuerzburg, Germany
The Brescia goalkeeper got her first shutouts in conference play as the Bearcats grabbed two wins over Midway and Shawnee State. The sophomore played all but seven minutes over the two matches, making a total of 12 saves without allowing a goal..

Cross Country Runners of the Week

Male Runner of the Week
Eli Lengl, Shawnee State | So. - Sunbury, Ohio
Lengl, who posted a time of 26:10.7 in the #JennaStrong Fall Classic, was the fastest River States Conference runner in the race, which also included a top 25 RSC team in Rio Grande, and the fifth-fastest NAIA runner in the field.

Female Runner of the Week
Beth Middleton, Shawnee State | Sr. - Olive Hill, Kentucky
Middleton, who ran a personal-best time of 19:42.3 in the 5K event, dropped her time by 18 seconds in doing so en route to setting her new PB -- claiming a 20th place finish in the 194-runner field as a result. Additionally, Middleton ran faster than all six NCAA Division I runners from Northern Kentucky that took part in the event as well as a runner from the meet winner from a team standpoint, Eastern Michigan.

Golfers of the Week

Male Golfer of the Week
Gage Gregory, Midway | Sr. - Monticello, Kentucky
Gregory had the best showing for a Midway team that finished ahead of No. 16 Coastal Georgia, No. 20 Point, No. 25 Northwestern Ohio and three other teams receiving votes in the national rankings at the Bojangles Invitational in Tennessee.

Female Golfer of the Week
Peityn Gillman, IU East | Fr. - Liberty, Indiana
Gillman impressed at the Crossroads League Preview, logging a top ten finish. The freshman had her best round in the second round of the tournament, shooting a three-over 75 that featured three birdies, adding to her total of six for the week.
