KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Laura Thompson of Brescia (Ky.) stood solid between the posts for the Bearcats for 173 minutes, picking up a pair of River States Conference wins and tying the program single-season win record along the way. Thompson earned NAIA National Defensive Player of the Week honors for her efforts.
In the 5-0 victory over Midway (Ky.), Thompson made four saves over 83 minutes in goal, earning the shutout win as the 2025 Bearcats team tied an 18-year-old record for most wins in a single season.
Just two days later, she doubled her save total, being called upon eight times in a 1-0 victory against Shawnee State (Ohio). Thompson was in the net from whistle to whistle, as she once again led her team to a victory and double-digit wins on the season.
