River States Players of the Week - January 12-18, 2026

OXFORD, Ohio - The River States Conference is pleased to announce the Player of the Week honorees for the past week.

All awards represent contests played from Monday, January 12 through Sunday, January 18.

Men's Basketball Players of the Week

Offensive Player of the Week
Jake McGraw, IU Kokomo | Fr. - Guard - Frankfort, Indiana
Freshman Jake McGraw delivered a breakout week on the offensive end, powering the (RV) Cougars to their eighth and ninth consecutive victories. McGraw poured in 27 points with six rebounds against IU Columbus, then followed with his second career double-double at IU East, finishing with 29 points and 10 rebounds.

Defensive Player of the Week
Jayden Loydd, Kentucky Christian | Jr. - Guard - Lake Wales, Florida
Loydd had a big week for Kentucky Christian, leading KCU in games against Midway and IU Columbus. The junior point guard averaged 4.5 steals per game, swiping five against Midway and four in a 95-83 victory over IU Columbus.

Women's Basketball Players of the Week

Offensive Player of the Week
Marlee Grinstead, Rio Grande | Sr. - Forward - Albany, Ohio
Grinstead scored a career-high 22 in win at WVU-Tech, then bettered that in win over RSC West leader Brescia. She averaged 23 points per game in wins over WVU Tech and Brescia, helping the RedStorm stay unbeaten in River States Conference play.

Defensive Player of the Week
A'Lyrica Hughes, Midway | So. - Guard - Owensboro, Kentucky
Hughes had 13 steals in two games, including a career-high nine against Kentucky Christian on Tuesday and four more against St. Mary-of-the-Woods on Saturday. A'Lyrica serves as an anchor of a Midway defense that is ninth in the NAIA with 25.8 takeaways per game.

Indoor Track Athletes of the Week

Male Track Athlete of the Week
Carson Milner, Midway | Jr. - Walton, Kentucky
Milner beat two NCAA Division-I runners to take first in the 5K at the Bellarmine Open on Friday. The junior won the 5,000 meter run in Louisville with a time of 15:21.18, first in a field of ten athletes. Milner is currently ranked fourth in the River States Conference in the event.

Male Field Athlete of the Week
Rhett Berryman, IU Kokomo | Sr. - Kokomo, Indiana
Senior thrower Rhett Berryman delivered a strong performance in the weight throw Saturday in Michigan, finishing second with a personal-best mark of 17.29 meters. The mark currently ranks Berryman first in the RSC and 21st nationally in the NAIA.

Female Track Athlete of the Week
Kayci Hill, IU East | Fr. - Middletown, Ohio
Hill finished second overall in the mile at the Rob & Patty Lydic Invitational in a field of 23 athletes. The freshman finished the race in 5:16.52, less than a half second behind the winner. Hill currently ranks second in the River States Conference in the mile.

Female Field Athlete of the Week
Sydney Duncan, IU Kokomo | Jr. - Anderson, Indiana
Reigning NAIA Shot Put National Champion Sydney Duncan made her season debut Saturday and wasted no time making an impact, posting A standards in both the shot put and weight throw to qualify for the NAIA Indoor National Championships. Duncan currently sits first in the RSC in both events and ranks No. 1 nationally in the shot put and No. 2 in the weight throw.
