MIDDLETOWN, Ohio - The River States Conference is pleased to announce the Player of the Week honorees for the past week.
All awards represent contests played from Monday, November 18 through Sunday, November 24.
Men's Basketball Players of the Week
Defensive Player of the Week
Adam Seams, WVU Tech | So. - Guard - Lewisburg, West Virginia
Seams contributed on both ends of the floor as WVU Tech earned victories over Lindsey Wilson and Carolina. The sophomore guard led the Golden Bears to a victory over Lindsey Wilson on Friday with 23 points, seven rebounds, and five steals. Seams then made an impact on the defensive end against Carolina, logging four more steals and four more rebounds off the bench in a 73-49 victory. Ten of Seams' eleven rebounds on the week came on the defensive end of the floor.
Offensive Player of the Week
Max Newman, IU Kokomo | Sr. - Forward - Monrovia, Indiana
Newman was clearly the best player on the floor on Saturday, as IU Kokomo earned an 89-74 victory over Olivet Nazarene. The senior made 15 of his 17 shots and all five of his free throws to score 35 points for the Cougars. The returning First Team All-River States Conference selection's impact was not limited to scoring, as the forward grabbed eleven rebounds to record his first double-double of the 2024-25 season.

A'Lyrica Hughes, Midway | Fr. - Guard - Owensboro, Kentucky
Hughes continues to be a force on both ends of the court as a freshman. The Owensboro native had 17 points and six steals in just 17 minutes with a perfect shooting night (6-6 from the field, 4-4 from the line) against Miami Middletown, then had 18 points, six rebounds and five steals to help keep Midway competitive against No. 8 Cumberlands. The freshman is currently tied for 12th in the nation with 3.8 steals per game.
Offensive Player of the Week
Kaylee Darnell, Rio Grande | Sr. - Guard - Wheelersburg, Ohio
Darnell made a major impact for the tenth ranked team in the nation, who won both of their games at the Bevo Francis Classic. The senior scored 27.5 points per game and shot 52.9 percent from the field in victories over previously unbeaten Governors State (an NAIA tourney team last season) and (RV) Lindsey Wilson. The Ohio native also added six rebounds per contest in the wins, and made five of her nine three-point attempts.
