MARIETTA, Ohio - From start to finish, the 2025 River States Conference Men's Indoor Track and Field Championships belonged to the RedStorm of the University of Rio Grande.

The RedStorm won the first relay, the last relay, and numerous events in between to cruise to the conference title Saturday on the campus of Marietta College, logging 313 points as a team. Rio Grande scored more points in distance events alone - 126 - than any other team in the conference scored in the entire meet. Shawnee State University earned the team runner-up honors with 122 points, while Indiana University Kokomo finished third at 110 points. Rio Grande head coach Matt Paxton won Coach of the Year honors for his efforts.

Tyler Jenkins led the way for Rio Grande, winning Male Track Athlete of the Year honors. Jenkins won the mile and 3000 meter races, and added a silver medal finish behind teammate Duncan Kogei in the 5000 meter run. Jenkins' two gold medals powered a Rio Grande medal haul that included nine total gold medals, including seven in individual events and two in relays (the 4x400 and 4x800 meter relays)

Another big winner in Marietta was Shawnee State's Luke Rader, who earned both Newcomer of the Year and Field Athlete of the Year honors. Rader led all male athletes with three gold medals, winning the long jump, triple jump, and the 55 meter hurdles. Jenkins and Rader were the lone athletes to win multiple individual gold medals, with several athletes adding relay gold to their individual gold.

Athletes from around the conference will now turn their attention to the NAIA Indoor Track and Field Championships, held for the first time this year in Gainesville, Florida. Qualifying athletes will be announced in the coming week, with action in Alachua County, Florida set to begin on February 27 and continue through March 1.
