2025 RSC Women's Soccer Preview

The beginning of the women's soccer season is just over a week away, and the River States Conference is excited to preview the 2025 seasons for our member schools! Each RSC school talked with players and coaches from their teams, with those interviews linked below as part of Media Day!

Additionally, each school has spotlighted two players expected to be major contributors during the 2025 campaign, and are also listed below as our 2025 Players to Watch!

BRESCIA

Geneva Hann
Senior | South Beloit, Illinois | Midfielder

Hann is the only senior on the team and was named to the RSC First Team last season as a defender. The Bearcats expect her to be their top defender as well as the conference's top defenders this season.

Lillie Carman
Junior | Madisonville, Kentucky | Midfielder

A transfer from Kentucky Wesleyan is set to strengthen the Brescia midfield in the defensive role. She brings valuable experience and a ball-winning mentality that will help anchor and stabilize the midfield unit.

Mallory Gilley
Junior | Columbus, Indiana | Goalkeeper

Mallory consistently ranks among the conference's premier goalkeepers, demonstrating exceptional technical skills and game management abilities.

Lily Campbell
Junior | Salem, Indiana | Midfielder

Lily is an experienced and versatile player who brings significant value through her tactical awareness and exceptional ability to win individual duals and defensive matchups.

IU EAST

Players to Watch

Ava Wittrock
Senior | Cincinnati, Ohio | Defender

Ava Wittrock was named to the All-RSC Second Team after helping the Red Wolves get to the RSC Championship Match. The defender scored two goals and had two assists on the season.

Zaryah Griffin
Sophomore | Pinckney, Michigan | Midfielder

Zaryah Griffin was named to the All-RSC Second Team after her first season with the Red Wolves. She scored three goals and tallied two assists.

Players to Watch

Kaiya Bogers 
Senior | Whitby, Ontario, Canada | Midfielder

An experienced fourth-year senior, Bogers is a dynamic scoring threat who consistently demands the attention of opposing defenses. She brings leadership and offensive firepower to the Cougar midfield this season.

Kailee Moore 
Senior | Noblesville, Indiana | Goalkeeper

Moore, a multi-time All-RSC honoree, holds multiple program records and is the first in program history to be named NAIA Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week. As a strong senior presence, she anchors the Cougars’ defense with experience and elite shot-stopping ability this season.

KENTUCKY CHRISTIAN

Players to Watch

Jasmine Jones
Freshman | South Point, Ohio | Forward

Jones is expected to be a major contributor for the Knights as a freshman during the team's first season in the River States Conference.

Sophia Friend
Sophomore | Carrollton, Texas | Forward/Midfield

Friend was one of Kentucky Christian's leading scorers during the 2024 season, ending the season with five points. The sophomore scored two goals and assisted on one more.

MIDWAY

Evie Clair
Senior | Sodus, Michigan | Forward

Clare was second in the River States in goals (13) and points (32) in 2025. She also finished fourth in the league with six assists.

Haylee Applegate
Senior | Flemingsburg, Kentucky | Forward

Applegate has 21 goals over the last two seasons, tied for the most by any player in the league in that time. Applegate had eight goals and a conference-high 75 shots last season.

Macey Woolcock
Senior | Essex, England | Forward

Woolcock was the River States Conference Offensive Player of the Year and overall Player of the Year in 2024. She is considered a major attacking threat and team leader, and will be the Mighty Oaks' captain in 2025.

Jana Mueller
Sophomore | Nierstein, Germany | Midfield

Mueller was named the 2024 River States Conference Newcomer of the Year, helping the Mighty Oaks to a conference title. She is considered the engine of the team in the midfield, and has vice captain status for 2025.

RIO GRANDE

Hannah Halstead
Senior | Delaware, Ohio | Defender

Halstead was an All-RSC First Team pick and the league's Defender of the Year a season ago. The senior is regarded as one of the RSC's best 1v1 defenders.

Jitske de Muijnk
Senior | Nymegen, The Netherlands | Midfielder

The senior was an All-RSC First Team selection last year. She ranked second on the team in goals scored (6) and points (15), while leading the team with five assists.

Carly Balas
Senior| Chesterton, Indiana | Center Back

Balas has been the backbone of the SMWC women's soccer program for three years.

Chloe Field
Senior | Haubstadt, Indiana | Midfielder

Field was a Third Team All-River States Conference selection last year. Arguably, she was the Pomeroys best player last year behind First Team All-RSC performer Kennedy Trigg.

Lucie Ashkettle
Junior | Lucasville, Ohio | Winger

Ashkettle, who has scored nine goals and tallied four assists for her Shawnee State career, returns for her third season as a starter. Ashkettle, a Third-Team All-RSC honoree in 2023 and 2024, has appeared in 34 matches while starting in 29 of those affairs.

Isabelle Riddle
Sophomore | Columbus, Ohio | Defender

Riddle, a sophomore defender from the western Columbus Metro suburb of Hillard, played in all 16 matches and started in 15 of the 16 contests that Shawnee State had last season en route to becoming one of the most respected defenders in the RSC and a Third-Team All-RSC honoree to boot. Riddle is expected to be a defensive anchor for the Bears' backline throughout the 2025 season.

Julia Silva
Sophomore | Canada | Midfielder

Julia Silva returns as last season’s leading scorer. Her skill and presence in the attacking third will create plenty of scoring opportunities for the team this year.

Sophie Quinlan
Sophomore | Canada | Defender

Sophie Quinlan is a talented defender who has been instrumental in strengthening the back line of the Golden Bears. Her skill and consistency make her a key part of the team’s defensive success.
